I’ve been involved with the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association Board since 2015:
- First Term – Owner Director
- Second and Third Terms – Vice President
- Fourth Term – President
I’ve been an owner and New York breeder for more than 40 years, and I own Song Hill Thoroughbreds in Saratoga County with my husband, H. James Bond. I’m also the managing partner of Bond Racing Stable, a partnership with more than 120 partners from across the country.
During my presidency, I have worked on:
- Securing 195 Race Days for 2026 and 203 for 2027 with one-for-one cancellations.
- Securing first purse increases since 2021 with purses increasing from 10-15% on average.
- I worked with the New York State Gaming Commission on several rule changes affecting owners and trainers. These include changes to the coupled-entry rule, modifications to partnership licensing requirements, improvements to claiming rules, and eliminating certain requirements involving The Jockey Club.
- I worked with NYRA and our legislators and the Governor to address the interruption in the racing support payments and advocated with the Gaming Commission to get the payments flowing again.
There is still additional work to be done to help ensure that this support continues for New York racing, as the solution is only temporary at this time. NYTHA has commissioned an economic impact study to help educate legislators and the public on the importance of the Thoroughbred industry in New York.
I understand this industry from many different perspectives — from breeding and raising horses to racing them at NYRA. My involvement with NYTHA has given me the opportunity to work on issues affecting owners, trainers, breeders and backstretch workers across New York. I want to continue to be your voice for the next three-year term as President.
