Most of you know who I am but for those that don’t, I am a third-generation horseman and, having been stabled in New York year-round, have experienced first-hand most of the problems that New York Horsemen have encountered. I have served the NYTHA Board for over thirty years on multiple Committees — “Backstretch” “Benevolence” “Scholarship” and “Trainers.” The main issue that is forcing many trainers out of business and others to avoid stabling in New York altogether is high cost of Workers’ Compensation insurance. We must also be vigilant in protecting Winter Racing Dates for the future of our State Breeding Program. I would like to thank all of you for your consideration on the ballot.
Sincerely,
Jimmy Ferraro
