Born in New York City, attended Xavier High School and St John’s University for undergraduate and graduate studies. Post college, embarked on a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction industry, focusing on sales, marketing, communications and business strategies. Spent 35 years with Gilbane, a global leader in the aforementioned industry. The last 15 years (prior to semi-retirement in 2021) was as Executive Vice President and Global Director of Sales and Marketing. During my tenure, EVP revenues grew from $1.2 billion to approximately $7 billion. Gilbane had the honor of being the Construction Manager on the 1863 Club where I worked closely with Glen Kozak as Principal in Charge. Post semi-retirement formed my own consulting business and worked with Tina Bond, Andy Belfiore, Dan Collins, etc. on the “Heart of Horse Racing” campaign. Currently live in Princeton Junction, NJ.
Paralleling this work experience was a developing and deepening passion for the thoroughbred industry, and a love and appreciation of the equine athlete. Purchased my first horse as part of West Point 15 years ago, and have had in excess of 50 in that period. During the journey developed a close relationship with Terry Finley and Tom Bellhouse. I believe both consider me as a partner, friend and trusted business advisor.
Horses I have personally owned include Horse of the Year Flightline, MGSW Integration, G1SW Sandman (standing in NY in 2027), and MSW Galilean (standing in NY). The current stable numbers approximately 30 horses including yearlings, 2-years-olds, horses of racing age, a stallion (Flightline) and broodmares. The future goal is to continue to expand industry involvement.
I firmly believe, considering the current and likely future economic state of the industry, that partnerships (large and small) will be a key catalyst to expand new and existing owner and fan involvement.
