As a NYTHA Board member and active owner at NYRA and Finger Lakes, I have brought hope and energy to our Association and industry. Having been tired of hearing and reading that our sport is dying, that as horsemen, we are only in it for ourselves and do not care about the welfare of the horses, I diligently spoke out to respond to public criticism of our names and reputations. I endeavored to increase communication and transparency between the Board and its membership regarding the important issues: purses, medication, facilities, after-racing care. I worked hard to ensure that all Notices of Meetings, Board minutes, Association financial reports and By-Laws are sent to all members as soon as they are available. I have been and will continue to be a Board representative for all NYTHA members.
I have brought the art of thoughtful reflection and compromise to the internal conflicts now being experienced in our organization, as well as to the discussion of major national and statewide issues. I have represented our interests in Albany and attended National THA meetings around the country and am often seen at the barn or training track in the morning and am easily accessible to members. I am:
- A thoroughbred owner with almost 300 starts, including multiple Stakes Winner Hoosick Falls, and owner of countless winners of claiming and allowance races.
- An attorney for over 30 years with experience representing trainers and jockeys on racing and business matters.
- A proven peace maker and negotiator as a Small Claims Court Arbitrator.
I have placed every one of my retired runners and mares in new careers or retirement farms.
FOR A VOICE OF REASON WITH A PASSION, RE-ELECT ANDY AARON TO THE NYTHA BOARD AS AN OWNER.
