Member’s Resource – HISA Update
To our Members,

Yesterday, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) published the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act (HISA)’s proposed racetrack safety rules.

They are available by clicking on the image below.

We encourage you to review the rules and provide comments directly to the FTC. Comments are due by Wednesday, January 19, 2022 and can be submitted by clicking on the green button, below.
NYTHA has played an active role in the process (see our previous correspondence on HISA HERE) and is currently reviewing the rules with our safety partners, with the aim of providing another formal submission.

Please contact the NYTHA office if you would prefer to share your comments with us directly.

For your reference, the FTC discussion of the comments previously received from the industry, and any changes made are already noted in the document. To be taken to that section directly, click on the image below.

Recently, the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and HISA broke off negotiations and you can read more about it HERE. It is important to note that despite this news, the process in establishing rules will continue and our industry’s feedback is critical.

Sincerely,

Will
