To New York’s Owners and Trainers:
Business for New York’s Thoroughbred racing, breeding and farming industries has taken off in 2012, reversing declines seen in previous years, and it’s on track for a robust future that will ensure New York remains the premier racing state. It’s a great story, and the recent gains are thanks in no small part to the State Legislature’s decision to dedicate revenue from the racino at Aqueduct to our industry, especially for increased purses. In less than one year, the amazing results generated by this new revenue speak for themselves, both on and off the track.
With the new legislative session starting in Albany next month, we want to let lawmakers, from rank-and-file members to the Governor, know that we appreciate this support. Our industry is a success story, adding jobs on and off the track across the State because of a smart decision by the Legislature, and we are doing it without taxpayer money. It’s an important message, and we want to be certain it does not get overlooked.
Please take a moment to visit the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association website, www.nytha.com, and send a letter to your Senator, Assembly Member and the Governor to show your support of New York racing.
It’s an easy process that starts by clicking on the flashing icon on our site. It will take less than a minute, but those few seconds will be very well spent. We appreciate the time you’ll take to help our industry stay on the path to real growth and even better racing.
Best Regards,
NYTHA President Rick Violette Jr.
